Rather than unselfish, I would say her character has always been obsessive lol. After all, she isn't doing this out of the goodness of her heart after experiencing Emi's kindness, she WANTS something to come out of her actions (the people loving Emi's Remilia and getting revenge). And mainly cares about 1 person truly.

Her stubbornly living as Emi's Remilia and planning the ultimate revenge is selfish as well because it fulfills her personal interest, which parallels the extent she went for the prince in the "game" but with a better game plan. (Which I honestly love because it shows that her personality as a "villain" maintained continuity with the game that many villainess stories just throw away)

I will agree that her sense of self can no longer be separated from "what Emi would do/want", which shows her obsessive personality

i fully disagree. emi's actions from the beginning of the series and her compassionate nature indicate she wouldn't actually want to take revenge, at least not to the degree remi has planned. emi no doubt has resentment towards the people who pushed her off a cliff, but remi is more fueled by the twisted satisfaction at seeing them destroyed more than she actually seems to want to emulate emi's behaviour, it's just a mask she uses in order to get what she wants

i do think she loves emi but it's an obsessive, misguided love and the series is about her personal revenge borne of a grudge and not anything noble, it's wholly selfish and not in emi's best interests, though she could have changed after falling to despair. we'll have to see i suppose

She even plans to hand her body over to Emi, when this is all over, and is content watching her get together with Angel because she doesn't think she's done anything for to deserve this happy ending since she was "just doing what Emi's Remilia would do." What's interesting is that she's completely forgotten the fact that Emi just wanted Remilia to be happy 🤔

Yeah I think if emi ever comes back, Emi will over Angel to Remilia and Remilia will over Angel to Emi, and all of them will end up confused.
