Remember the mother of the heroine has resurrection magic so even if the parents dont like the royal family I doubt they would let the crowned prince permanently dead

Christopher was already out of succession and going to convalesce in the countryside, crippled by the curse the heroine put on him at the start of the story, but now he's been prematurely aged like fifty years judging from what we saw after the bracelet was destroyed.
