honestly i think it would have maybe been more emotionally resonant if she was doing the "fuhahaha i was evil and using you the whole time" bit to get toko and the rest to hate her so she could be a scapegoat for the city guard to let the rest off the hook. with the bedridden father thing, like she said the dad was too far gone that even high tier care couldn't save him, and she could have been feeling guilty about using toko as a tool but still took advantage anyway out of what she felt was necessity, or just didn't have the heart to tell her. still antagonistic but more sympathetic. she was so obviously evil the moment she showed up that it made this arc feel a little silly
