I feel like Fiona-kun had long been a complete vessel before meeting with Albus.

I knew that for Albus it was always about Fiona and saving her. He wants to save the world, but more than that he wants to save Fiona by any means necessary. This changes the stakes of his journey considerably...also I don't think it was ever pointed out that HE was the one who instigated the loops rather than it just being somehow a supernatural thing that kept happening around him. This again changes the whole story. I am rather excited to see where this one goes now!

Okay this chapter sold me & couldn't believe these 8 chapters were essentially the prologue to the story. I thought that Fiona was going to die in the encounter & Albus was looping to prevent his allies deaths while also making sure the Demon King doesn't get stronger. It is great to be wrong. That was kind of my expectation too, but I am very happy to have been wrong. The fact that she had those black eyes this whole time like she had resigned herself to a fate where she constantly dies (whether she knew it or not)...but the reality is that he has been trying to stop her from becoming the Demon King in every loop. That was not the twist I expected to be the case here. The eyes must be key to know where things stand. I can imagine we will see more loops and every loop will include her as a companion so he can keep her close to figure out how to stop her from becoming the Demon King.
