The ISS is going down in 2030. This is now inevitable with Russia's decision to decommission all their sections (42% of the ISS by pressurized volume and 100% of the stationkeeping capability). These kids won't ever get a chance to go there. Actually, the fact that they are still training in a copy of the ISS is a perfect illustration of how stagnant space exploration research is outside China. Because the ISS is mostly based on Russian design, it's still built with Mir's "submarine in space" architecture - even the non-Russian sections. Yet even in the US there has been no effort to design a more liveable space station like Tiangong. There's simply no fund for it. There are also no workable plans for an ISS replacement today.
