Humiliation! ( in quake 3 voice)

Im sure Tork wont get any funny ideas later.
I don't know. Even though Tork doesn't act like nobility like anyone actually does, he might feel pressured to keep it, especially if word gets back to his family about the oath he took. Still, it's a bit early to make a call

Damn. I wish this chapter had started off from where the last one ended. Half of it was setting up the fight that they already started to do previously.

They’re fencing without helmets. I’m surprised nobody lost an eyeball yet. Most likely that part of the rule.

Still I guess it was good that nobody was scummy enough to intentionally do that. None of the kids are irredeemable (yet). Perhaps they’re all be good friends later.

He put a check on that arrogant student. He probably won't do anything stupid, because he already swore by his noble family's name. Dunno about his henchmen though.

This reminds me of why Nazi German's are often portrayed with some badass scars on their face; because they actually DID have badass scars on their face - but not for the reason you're likely thinking (war).

An oddity of German culture that has now fallen out of fashion was that they did fencing in their (upper-class) schools, however, they did so without masks (though they may have worn goggles if they so chose, and gear to protect their necks specifically). It was not only seen as a symbol of courage and pride to have a sick ass fencing scar on your face, but it also let everyone know that you are highly educated and wealthy (because you went to one of those rich kid schools).
They were such big status symbols, Germans would have scar themselves to fake a fencing scar.

Thus, why nazi Germans are often portrayed with sinister looking scars in media.

Also, german fencing was weird; they'd just wave their sword around like a whip, essentially cutting each-other up until one chickens out, or faints, or a winner was decided by a judge.

This is a breath of fresh air.
This MC is too likeable. For the same kind of protagonist, there's The Conqueror from a Dying Kingdom, he's like this too.

Guess Almark did not start the fight after all. I'd like to think it's offset by the fact that he did it to repay the debt he owes Wendy.
