Not that a climbing expert either. The way she's fastened the rope to her security harness won't do her much good if she were to fall.

Also, Shizuka's second personality apparently has no need for glasses but she brings them along anyway in order to trick Edo; evidence IMO that other than less straight laced, she's also more cunning than the plain personality...

Her boyfriend, Brett, seems not to be a computer expert either for similar reasons. I suspect the author gets just a bit out of their depth when trying to discuss or draw technical subjects. Someone more familiar with the subjects starts to catch little bits that don't make sense.
