I think that they're now both in-laws may complicate things. It's bittersweet in a way, that they're both reunited but can't really act on it.

I mean at their age i don't expect any hardcore making out but them spending their retirement days together peacefully would be nice (assuming any partners they have would've passed or so but i wouldn't mind the author doing another series where it's more of a happier end)
