The proof this is fictional is how much time she resisted. Irl couples i knew with a this age gap( adult x high schooler) are sleeping together in less time than this.Look - I'm not saying I'm 100% on-board with Saya actively pursuing Rui. It's compelling, but realistically it's a bad call (and yes, it's a fictional story - s'why I'm here).
I've met people like Saya who have that little a view of themselves as someone worth standing up for. And they put so much of their worth in the hands of others who they at one time saw as important, that they'd absolutely let themselves be walked all over like that, in the hopes that "maybe this time I'll do things correctly and [the ex] will stick around".Im more curious why she didnt just block her...
Like cmon girl, it was 4K! No amount of glue could piece a relationship like that back together... good that you got out, but cmon man!
Saya's someone who's losing the fight against herself in not falling for her teenage niece - and that's on top of us getting further backstory about how she's historically been a doormat in other areas of her life.Ah, fuck off. Her rejection of her ex was só unsatisfying. Just that? We don't even get to see the ex's full reaction? How boring. I lost all interest in this story If this is all that is...
My problem is not that. It was that the author decided to just cut it off part of an important interaction in a disapointing fashion. Her ex cheating was the starting point of this entire circus and now is treated as an afterthought not even worth the satisfaction of a proper display? As I said: Unsatisfying and boring.Saya's someone who's losing the fight against herself in not falling for her teenage niece - and that's on top of us getting further backstory about how she's historically been a doormat in other areas of her life.
Asking her to suddenly have the moral composure and sense of self to aggressively rebuke her manipulative ex when it's a mark of character progression that she didn't relapse at all is certainly your right, but wouldn't really make sense for Saya at this point, in-context.
I'd argue it was more the pretext for Saya moving in with her sister and thus setting up the story involving her relationship with Rui. The ex wasn't important, beyond being a convenient way of showing that Saya generally had issues with relationships and her sense of self-worth - and for putting her in proximity of the story's true romantic interest. My problem is not that. Saya would never move If It was not for the cheating girlfriend. The cheating was the catalyst of it all. Rui would not get the opportunity to get closer to Saya If she was still in a relationship. And we don't know If Saya just leaves her girlfriend or If she said anything else because the author doesn't even have the decency on showing the full interaction. It's all especulation how things went after It was cut off. And even If It that was the case, showing more of the ex's reactions (which is the main point I'm focusing in) would be a catharsis for readers that watched Saya agonizing because of her betrayal through the story. It would be a nice touch in a rather bland manga.I'd argue it was more the pretext for Saya moving in with her sister and thus setting up the story involving her relationship with Rui. Beyond that, any interaction with said ex during the plot, would be in comparison to Rui, and Saya's realization of what she really wanted. Saya rejects her, then just leaves because at that point, the ex really is worth about that much of her time and energy.
But from what I can find, I think this series is only 10 chapters in total - if that is the case, then the pacing overall kinda expedites the narrative elements in general, including any plot involving her ex.
Is it really?Next chapter is the last one. We're really speedrunning this huh.
