Oh, give it up. Guy was a plot device from the start, to the point that author didn't even bother with conceptualizing his face. And this manga really doesn't focus on internal dealing with the "past" (maybe there's nothing to deal with, or reconciliation already happened), but more on a present adding up to a "future".
I'm not sure what road will the plot follow, but oh well - if GL ensues, it won't be the first time in history that fiction strayed away from initial premise (compare with 20994 for example).
