It's not a good example or a 1 to 1 though. Humans are FAR more sentient and advanced in our ability to think, feel, empathize, etc. Not to mention, this analogy only works on the basis of thought that humans are nothing more than animals that are no different than all the other animals in the world, which only a small portion of people in the world actually believe that.

So yes, this would be terrifying for people, mainly because of our sentience and sense of conscious and self. But that's exactly why we're also different than the rest of all the animals, no animal could even reach near the level of sentience and self we have.

I understand there are a lot of debates about eating animals and what not, and it's true nothing can survive without killing something else, But it's more of a question that would you kill an intelligent animal, That you actually knew had free will and consciousness. But I guess the point this is trying to make is that well basically like a cheap version of tokyo ghouls message.
