Cardfight runs by "the stronger your power to imagine, the better random crit sacker player you are" logic (there's supernatural shit behind this but that is besides the point).

A character worth their salt would totally flinch or even fly backwards in pain just from watching their opponent turn their card sideways in a dramatic fashion because they were seeing this really epic attack in their minds. So the poor dudes outside basically took massive amounts of chuunibyou damage and fainted.
