Suffocating his mother and cutting own throat isn't the most pleasant thing to do, unless trying to inflict suffering... dumb way to end things on your own.
It isn't his fault because they didn't fill him in while visiting the hospital nor when he went first day to school, blabbering about "ghosts" or supernatural is vague. Author is dumb as fuck if he's trying to convince us it's that way...
