Swords are actually kind of bad to hit with force. They're balanced towards the hilt, so not that much force goes to the striking point. But it makes them very agile weapons, so that circular technique isn't needed to get that amount of force. Now compare it to a tip-heavy weapon, like a mace.
Jumping is generally just bad. But can be surprising for a single hit.

Yeah, trying to do two attacks at once ignores that most attacks use the whole body. Even a simple jab starts from the feet.
Considering his opponent has a sword, he's doing pretty well. The advantage of a weapon like that against fists is massive, even if it's just a sword breaker, which is rather short.
