Any reason why our MC isn’t turning? Does turning require the zombie to be attacking you until you die or something akin to that? Would seem pretty hard to turn if that’s the case. Especially if you heal the moment you level up.

It also really depends on what type of zombie lore they're going for. Not all settings have zombies that are zombie movie style where a bite = you're a zombie now. I wouldn't be surprised if this one, the victim needs to die first. It could even be more a function of the dungeon that turns corpses into zombies, instead of the infection trope. More like Dungeons and Dragons, less like The Walking Dead or something.
