Momo-chan's...well, at least 2.5 handfuls. But Kotone really delivers as the straight woman to the MC's antics.

I do wonder if the general setup will be smaller 1-2chapter mysteries (or 1-chapter mysteries) that they both work through, with this bigger murder mystery being the 'main arc plot point'; and, whether it'll be one that spans a volume's worth of work, or if it's the "main narrative mystery" that will comprise the whole of the series.
I kinda lean toward the former; one Big Mystery that spans an entire volume, and Momo-chan actually helps make ground toward solving that alongside Kotone, while Kotone does most of the 1-chapter mysteries; and Momo-chan both learns more about "becoming a Great Detective" in the process (with plenty of foibles and comedic antics along the way), but then inadvertently helps Kotone get to the bottom of the Big Mystery.

And of course, slowly pries open Kotone's heart and inches her way inside, Big Mystery by Big Mystery.

Really enjoy the character-forward nature of this, though. Momo-chan & Kotone are already great together, even if Kotone is constantly at her wit's end over the sheer volume at which the MC exists at. Also having the first mysteries being within their apartment building is very cool; allows for an organic growing of the cast of characters, and I guess it could expand further from there (with the Big Mystery/Mysteries being outside of their living situation).

"she's not currently grieving so she must have killed him" is horrendous logic. different people grieve in different ways and someone can not be grieving and still not be the killer.

is this series a hidden gem? love the way it subverts the normal detective genre by just having her be a TERRIBLE detective and wildly unobservant, i'm excited to see the day momo catches her first break and makes some incredible deduction that no one else sees

I like the idea that Kotone is either the murderer, or an accomplice, and that our "great detective" ends up falling for the bad girl, while being none the wiser.

Very cute moments though, I wonder if Momo is the absorbing type. If she could learn to observe via osmosis by being around Kotone all the time—and instinctively learned to draw conclusions, even if she couldn't explain it like Kotone did—she'd be so cool.
