Asako really does see something in Masahi. He has a very kind heart.
I'm willing to bet Asako saw either herself in those pictures or someone she knows. We know she's been trying t get away from her past, maybe she did fake her death.
I just had a horrible thought. What if Masahi finds her and she pretends not to recognize him because she doesn't want her past to catch up with her? Nope, not going to think that. This will end like "Divorced Crybaby" or "Broken Childhood friend" with him healing her soul.
Hopefully Onee-chan learned the lesson that you don't pick your friends based on popularity or looks.
I actually thought Kakei was going to die.
I wonder what she will be like in the future. It seems like the two of them may still be in contact with her. That's one of the things I really like about this series, we get to see how the characters change between being adults and kids.

Just caught up to it after reading it years ago.
Should've known you'd be the one picking-up this age-gap manga...
Anyways, I don't know how dramatic it'll get (sadly, Kakei dying was it...), but I'd be fine with Asako dying and this being a bitter-sweet childhood reminiscing manga. But I'm sure it won't be this simple.

She's super hateable, right? But at the same time, she's so miserable it's hard not to feel for her. If only there had been adults who knew her circumstances and could set her straight.
