He is no closer to finding her and now he's reached the end of his memories of her so my prediction is they're going to meander around with the worthless side characters awhile then a random deus ex machina will happen that will give him a lead. Pretty sure she had sex with the asshole, and Masashi dreamed of himself having it with her simultaneously, you know, from subliminal influence from reality into his dream.

Thanks for the translation.
I understand the frustration of some readers but it doesn't seem to me that this manga is adding unnecessary drama, all the reactions of the characters are pretty natural, especially Masahi who is just an 11-years old kid, and it seems to me that there are still a lot of unknowns about Asako that need to be uncovered. It's not a romance story, for sure. I like it a lot personally.

From what it looks like, MC meets an old high school classmate/friend of Asa-nee, who was bullied relentlessly. Asa-nee befriends this girl, and this girl finds out that Asa-nee was being phyiscally abused by her father. From what it looks like, girl comes in to deliver a pocket knife for Asa-nee's self protection. There is a scuffle at Asa-nee's home and Asa-nee's father gets knocked out, Asa-nee tells the girl to go home, and Asa-nee proceeds to stab her father's unconscious body repeatedly.

Quite an unfortunate end to their rather close relationship. Young folks easily believe rumours, even blatant lies, so this wasn't so unrealistic. He still didn't begin to hate or dislike her, but there was now a layer of suspicion mixed in, perhaps even fear.
