i know fortune telling shops are a 'thing' in jp but i wonder how many would be successful/seriously believe as opposed to like a prayer at a shinto shrine or so
tho would be amusing to see someone be blunt enough at a fortune teller like "yeah i work in a soapland/brothel"
i would assume most fortune tellers give you 'good' advice versus "you're doomed " unless they upsell you an overpriced "charm" or so lol
i wonder how the 'mama/master' of shop owners got started, seems a bit odd despite corporations being like 'we're family' but i can imagine the fact that she's doing vid calls now (covid aside) wouldn't be surprised if she was doing money laundering or some kinda scam or so even if that lady doesn't have a full on cult but other than ppl overpaying for 'comfort' surely that person would have a main job and the fortune telling being a side hustle tho idk if she could be legally charged/sued for scamming ppl, hopefully it works out for this chara's arc tho
