I assume you mean the guy at the start of this series? If so, she met that guy through the rent-a-girlfriend services and she couldn't be comfortable enough to share her whole trauma with him; you might want to reread that part of the story for more context.

With Taiyou, she met him as herself, they both share an interest and they both have similar backgrounds, which makes it easy for both to get closer as they both struggle with their parent.

This is just me when I say this but I think Yuki needs someone who is willing to go by her pace. Someone who is always there when she needs someone and a bit pushy. Almost like a guy version of Rina. Well, if this was a yuri then Rina is perfect for her.
