some isekai stories have the soul slowly adjusting to the body, so that might be happening here. While she was an adult, her soul is becoming more childlike as time goes on cuz she's currently in a child body.

Well it's been determined even in humans that some parts of the brain don't reach full functionality till nearly twenty years old.
So even reincarnators who were adults are only functioning with a partially developed thinking organ.
It would be like trying to use modern software on a Windows 3.1/MS DOS computer.
