So, did Tsubaki lie to the girl that Akane didn't kill that dog, or is Akane perhaps not aware of what he does in these moments? A sort of defense mechanism? Regardless, it looks like this story has a rather tragic monster. One made by a village that ended a family, likely due to blaming them for something that was not even their fault.

How on earth are these rock falls perfectly silent? Even if we accept that the rocks completely crush the body and bury themselves seamlessly in the dirt, how do they not hear them tumbling down the mountain and then the impact?

Well, it's possible Tsubaki didn't know/wasn't sure that Akane was indeed the one who killed that dog. But that would be weird, since she always 'knows' everything. It's interesting to notice she asked Ayame what did she see that night. This could mean she probably lied to raise Ayame's morale. Imagine a nice girl like Ayame seeing her first 'crush' killing a (stray) dog without mercy...
It's also interesting to notice that probably Tsubaki also understood the reason why he killed that dog.
