Damn, dude turned into one punch man on his family. Doesnt seem like this is the end yet, though I'm surprised on how the villagers kinda left our mc duo here alone after finishing akane.The heron gang probably still have something in their sleeve or maybe nothing.

I think Shumei reacted in worst way possible to the rape of his wife. Maybe because he was overzealous, following the rules of the god(dess) Kanayago literally (for example "the blood of women is impure" and so on). I'm not really sure why he went on a killing spree of the other members of his family though. If he really loved his son, he should have lived to help him become a strong and independent adult. Instead he abandoned him to the mercy of fate.
In fact Akane before dying pointed out the contraddiction of what his father did. Obviously parents don't always do what's actually the best for their children, they do what they think it's the best for them.
