After 45 volumes, I guess some staleness or lulls can be expected. Iron Mangaka Oda is still going strong at 100+ volumes, and Hajime no Ippo keeps trundling along... just three more volumes for Azumi, if I remember rightly.

... but I think this one was just there to show Azumi's skills to her companions. The main bad guys are still around.
