Nimi is sure the whole pack in a compact size.
The three other starter destroyer girls (Ayanami, Javelin, and
Benson-class Laffey) are about 1700 tonnes standard load, just over 100m long, and had 120-127mm (~5 inch) main guns. Z23 was 127m long, 2500 tonnes standard, and had 150mm guns; a caliber then normally reserved for light cruisers. So it absolutely makes sense that she (and the larger French destroyers with similar displacement) would be shortstacks when translated into shipgirl form.
The "it's not a date it's a [describes exactly what a date is]" trope rarely fails to be funny. Also love the coffee lure to get Mainz out of hiding. Good stuff overall
For a hypothetical
World of Warships crossover design ("What if Germany mounted light cruisers guns on a
Hipper hull, similar to the
Mogami-class cruisers"), Mainz ended up such an adorable dork. It's sad she's barely had any skins or involvement, and even her fancy new skin just has standard-appearance voicelines.
