Hunh, so after the anime the manga is the second to kinda-sorta confirm that either the USN Eagle Union has no formal hierarchy and sends whoever is at hand, or Clevebro is actually the second in command (if not the primary herself). Odd, since you'd expect if not one of the battleships (like Washington) at least one of the CVs (Enterprise first and foremost, but also Lexington or Shangri La) to take that place.

It's been a long time so correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the commander just collapse from exhaustion? Surely one 76 chapters is enough for one to recover from overwork?

EDIT: Went back to check. Commander's diagnosis from chapter 2: mental & physical exhaustion, lower back pain, tendinitis, hearing loss(?), eye strain, insomnia, and a few more Akashi decided not to mention

@banzaidrop Enty is too busy going on sorties to attend the conference so Clevebro will have to manage.

@Deathhappens tbh given EU's way of their organization, its not a surprise for them to send anyone available as they dont have exactly a permanent leader. Most of them are capable of doing any task given to them.

Im more excited to know how Sakura Empire reacts as they have lots of extremist lmao
But if they do send Amagi to deal w/ the talks, it be much better.

@nutman451 Vittorio Veneto is the de jure leader, Littorio makes all the important decisions (and is thus the de facto leader).
Also, since this meeting is about Fleet Excercises she might be here in her capacity as Strategic Commander instead.
