So... rahotsu is a compact version of dreadlock, right?
Even the author is giving more fuel.

Ah yes the IF route where Yuu and Suzu didn’t meet and become childhood friends.

Where Atori and Suzu are “best friends” (and supposedly Yuu and Rura are also “best friends” but nikumaru has never posted any art of this).

the hair genes are weird
like I live in a super dry climate and I always thought I had straight hair genes. even when it got wet it would just drop under it's own weight

then I go to Japan and it just starts curling at the tips, and it's like, wait, I have wavy hair
the last time was wild af. I dont know if it's cuz it was my first time there during rainy season, or if it was because it was my first time there on HRT, but I was getting loops in my hair constantly, even when drenched
honestly it's surreal as heck checking that twitter
a year ago it was all their NTR manga, and now its suddenly all yuribait

now if only we could get all artists to switch to yuri

Depend on the type, and the person.

I don’t understand people who enjoy NTR to empathise with the victim guy either. The guy weeping pathetically is usually the noise and source of annoyance.

For porn NTR, I like how it’s more aggressive. While in general, maybe a kind of catharsis towards how in male-lead romance story we usually have MC who is just passive while the girls acts like there are no other guy in the world. So, seeing the ntr guy who did spend effort (even in bad faith), and the girl who realise she can have other choice that actually gives result, is quite satisfying.
So... I like well written NTR because the guy actually spend effort to win the girl and gets rewarded for it. Rather than just waiting for it to be served on silver spoon by the author.

lol I wasn’t making my joke to start a conversation, but whatever.

I don’t even think there’s a niche for the NTR I was referring to (rooting for a specific heroine to win / and another to lose).

I more meant that it’s not my cup of tea. I’m more of a pure love story enjoyer.

And I can understand where you’re coming from, because I can get intellectually why people might be into it. Yeah the squishy no personality MCs in a lot of romances could benefit from a reality check in the form of someone with actual motivation, well intentioned or not.

I will say, I’ll compare my experience with Bad Girl, the first manga I’ve read and enjoyed with even light NTR tones, to watching a horror movie as a fan of horror movies.

Up until recently it felt like watching a recent A24 horror movie. Everything looks great and is well written, but there are some moments that will make you feel sick and it feels like there’s a chance the forces of evil will win in the end, but you keep watching.

Now I liken it to watching one of the Halloween movies. There will be some scares along the way. But you feel pretty confident that the main heroine will win and defeat michael Meyers, even if there’s a chance Michael isn’t gone for good by the end.

Bad Girl’s kind of nice because manga female characters are typically more active.

The most serious NTR episode (ch 29.5), when Suzu realised Yuu is going to leave her because she -borrowing villainess genre term- “discovered true love”. This is quickly followed up by Suzu trying to fight back by struggling to stay close to Yuu.
She’s not just crying her fate (passive), despairing on how she couldn’t possibly win against the more attractive rival (low self esteem), and hope plot will give her time extension like typical male MC would.

The rest, Yuu getting the ntr when Atori flirts with Suzu, is played like comedy so it doesn’t feel as heavy.
There’s also the hilarious later episode when Atori felt she got ntr’d because Mizuka treats Sumiki more as a sister (after all, Atori is her object of worship, not sister).

btw, episode 2.
Did we get bikini episode in alternate universe before the main manga?
