They explained in the very first chapter (which I know was a long time ago), that it’s the time she has left on earth, until she can get back to heaven. But they didn’t specify what the number meant, or how it goes up and down. It’s defo going to pick up soon on that front.

Well even in the current chapters we still don't know for sure what the numbers mean and how they work right? And we're in the final volume. I'm assuming it'll be a final reveal, unless I completely forgot, which is entirely possible.
