Ban LuaScans

Rule #1.8: Permanently withholding some of your scanlations to a series for the purpose of attracting users to your site is not allowed.

It's been common knowledge since always that LuaScans keep breaking rule #1.8 on just about every single title they're involved in. I've reported them, I know others have reported them, yet the reports keep getting denied and nothing ever changes.

I've just blocked them now, but I think they should be banned from the site because it is unhealthy for the MD ecosystem.

The rule 1.8 is:
"Permanently withholding some of your scanlations to a series for the purpose of attracting users to your site is not allowed."

It is okay to temporarily withhold chapters, Also this rule is not very strictly enforced, It is up to the moderators discretion whether it is appropriate to enforce the rule or not as they see fit that is why it is kept ambiguous, This is more of a measure so groups don't skip chapters in between.

Technically the time frame between their chapters can be long but never permanent (unless it's the end of the world or something)

They do go back and upload chapters of series from time to time, See EN uploads on:

It's their group, They can decide what's the wait time between their uploads on their site/page/tumblr/etc. and their MangaDex page.

That was my exact thought when N20 posted it, but I guess here we could rant more if we wanted.

The following links are just from the last 24 hours, there have been way more egregious cases last week. If you don't see a problem with this, then idfk what to say

If you want me to find PERMANENT ones, as in a year+, then sure, then I can go and do that. Or you could just go and check their last weeks uploads

I posted this here deliberately so that people would see what the discussion is, and prevent it from being shut down unfairly. I have zero trust in moderators after so many reports having been made towards LuaScans and they not being banned.

Wouldn't be fair to instantly ban them without communicating the problem with them then asking them to comply, If they didn't comply that would warrant a ban.

I wasn't aware before hand but some of the staff had already discussed this and were planning to communicate with the group, I have asked the other staff that were going to message them if they have or not, If not, I'll try and contact them, If no one else volunteers.
