the art made it hard to realize, but the kid is 10 years old.
mom just died the year before. he looks like he don't get along well with his brother. his father is gis "only" loving family left. then he heard a rumor of a grim reaper bride, and no way to prove otherwise. him being paranoid is a completely normal phenomenon.

didn't you also easily swayed when you're of that age? i know i did some stupid things even older than 10.

That little thorn is not well in the mind. There is a certain limit to immaturity but it just becomes delusional and ignorant, certainly not fitting of a duke's kid. Properly taught and cared 10 year old shouldn't think and act that heinous and paranoid. Dammed kid, the writer did a good job in making this character hateable.

again, 10 years old. at that age, especially when you live privileged as a noble's kid, his definition of consequence is probably skipping dessert. especially when he is convinced the MC is evil.

in his head, MC is a thief who went inside his house, and is attempting to kill his father. and he did tried to shoo her with the pranks, with the maids on his side, etc. but nothing's working. he's desperate.

RL example, i smashed by big brother's head with a cane when i was 8 years old. he's teasing me nonstop, and i got angry. didn't even realize i have a caane in my hand until i see blood gushing out of his forehead.
