I was wondering how Collision related to Quintuple, but I guess the only relation is that it now has an additional level of scaling. Shame, I was hoping for an evolved ability and not an entirely new one.
Collision definitely serves as an evolution for the Quintuple ability in the way that it's like the metaphor of Yuri's mental growth. Quintuple starts out as a simple ability where outburst of damage happens as soon as Yuri attacks, with emotions/willpower powering up the strength. This is just like Yuri pre-trials; being frustrated at all the injustices around her leads her to taking action immediately without a care of any consequences because she was desperate to prove how her existence wasn't a coincidence and how there was meaning as to why she lives. Yuri thought that by helping others facing hardship like her, she in return can have her own existence validated (Yuri having this kind of thinking can be seen in chapter 60, volume 7).
However, after experiencing everything in the trials up until the final one and getting to know the circumstances of those around her on an intimate level and how people like Inose (the grandpa in the 4th trial) helped her gain the strength to face the trauma of her family life, Yuri's Collision evolves into a more strategic ability where she can control the timing of the damage inflicted and build it up as she pleases. This is a representation of the growth of Yuri's maturity in which she develops a better understanding of herself and those around her, gaining the perspective that not everything is black and white in life. She no longer uses the hardships she experiences as a stepping stool to prove there is value in her life (seen in the mechanics of the original Quintuple ability where punch = immediate damage and non-stop action). She grows to appreciate her existence and the lives of those around her on a more deeper scale, having something much bigger on her shoulders worth fighting for (Collision shows this aspect as it forces Yuri to think about when and how she should inflict damage; like a metaphor for basically having a lot more control and stability over her life).
