As much as I understand Kano's point of view, I can also accept Inoki and the others. It's easy to say, "We can cover up the mistake and make sure no one talks about it." But the guilt doesn’t just disappear. Deep down, you know you chose the easier path, bent the rules, and placed yourself above those who chose to follow them. It is easy to stay silent now, but what about in the future when you are up against another rule? Would you choose to bend it again? if they choose to cover it up, they will always see themselves as someone who has chosen to bend the rule. I think it is better for them to report it and deal with the consequence. Maybe they can negotiate about the punishment since they report it themselves.
