the story lacks struggle. like idk the mom died of cancer but there is a treatment that came out couple years later so MC strives to make his mom healthy enough that she can survive until the medicine comes out. sheeesh

Yeah the lack of stakes can be a problem, since you could probably equate this with other power-fantasy regression stories where the MC is OP and everyone wants to (figuratively but sometimes literally) suck his dick

I like the story overall - it feels genuine - but its main saving grace (besides the art, which is, uh, heartwarming? if that makes sense?) is the fact that the character writing is honestly pretty good, and helps carry a lot of the story's lower points

Overall I think it's great, the bad doesn't really outweigh the good too much. Except the somewhat subpar translations. That just puts a damper on the whole thing lol

i can enjoy a slice of life story but i felt like this one's purpose got lost someway.
first, it was being a filial son. then it was being a filial son while also pursuing acting. now he's doing acting work but we already know he is award-winning performer so i don't see how this can become interesting if nothing changes.

I don't disagree as a whole, but to me, the purpose (I could be wrong, this is just me) wasn't to be a filial son, but to just be a better person, and to learn to appreciate/be thankful for the people that care about you

Mans is still learning how to love himself and others, despite his confidence and skills

I don't think the story was ever actually supposed to be about giving up acting to be a filial son.

Don't get me wrong I would and in fact have read a slice of life comic about people working at a fish market, and I would also read a rebirth story where the protagonist decided to do pursue a completely different career and couldn't use a lot of their rebirth knowledge, but I felt like the filial son arc was just that thing where a protagonist whines about how they refuse to ever do X even though X is clearly what the story is about and in this case X is even the title of the dang story.

I am hoping the time skip will be the start of MC facing some challenges and not just being the best guy that everyone likes.
