I had always imagined Kissu's saiga would be a gun like the Cyclone Gunner, but able to change what element it used. If it's something inhuman, I kinda wonder if the saiga would let him use dark power, since he's already mastered all of the human elements.

Im thinking its going to be more your second idea. My mind is jumping to him getting some sort of gauntlet and eye piece combo, for an 'evil commander' look. Uses them to convert light mana into dark mana or some such. But Ill probably be wrong. Or more I hope Im wrong, and its something I can't even expect.

Finally caught up with this series! Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai is my absolute favorite manga, so I was always interested in Beet, but was dissuaded since it stopped getting chapters. I'm so happy that it's getting translated, and that there are still people like me who love series like this!

I think in terms of physical abilities and powers, Dai has Beet... beat. The ability to fly, his strong projectile attacks like Avan Stash and Dorura compared to Beet's be-Gun, and the overall physical strength of Dai means that he wins this. I mean, he cleaved Kiganjou (a mountain sized creature) using only Earth Slash (nowhere near his strongest technique) less than halfway through the series (EOS Dai is insanely stronger). Beet's only win con is if he can set up Bluezam's like he did against Hystario. Dai wins.

This is just my guess but they are probably just busy with their life.

As far as I know there shouldn't be a hiatus but regardless there
should be two more chapters for
Volume 18 since it's usually three to five chapters per volume.

I was expecting there to be a new chapter on 1/29 in Jump Sq Rise since I think that is when the Winter issue came out.

They show a preview but I'm not sure which chapter they are for

So, an update to break up the silence and also at kind of a crucial time, specifically cause of all this DMCA scare with all of these series getting nuked. As far as our plans: We're still gonna continue. Honestly, I don't wanna lose out on what I commissioned to get done, and Jacob put real effort into his chapters too. We've both been big busy with life and expenses holding me back as far as getting a commission through, but both of us have still been talkin and we're gonna try to get something out eventually. I love this series and this duo's work (Just recently also rewatched Kamen Rider Drive, I adore Riku Sanjo's writing).

Sorry for the long wait everyone, and trust that we're keeping an eye on getting something done to keep it going, and making sure we're still secure in case Beet is the next victim of this DMCA massacre.

As a side note, I've seen the last few SQ. Rise covers and most of them if not all have had Beet mentioned, so I'm fairly sure there's been a consistent flow of chapters still. Whether or not we get Volume 19 in Fall or in the next Winter issue remains to be seen though. I'm excited regardless.
