From what I can tell, Miesa has been heavily abused, and it would not surprise me that she has "regressed" as a way of survival. There are hints from other chapters where she has been shown to have moments of clarity (like the bedroom scene where she's staring at ML).

We'll have to wait and see what happens. I'm reminded of "How To Get My Husband on My Side", and the abuse that FML suffered at the hands of her brother.
