Well MC did say he wanted to clear up Celes name so he made sure there are no misunderstandings since politicians can be quite the linguists (in a bad way), and it's probably just the readers and few story characters who knew the whole demon scheme anyway.

Although his lines were too lengthy, I guess.

I feel like MC's reason for pursuing the demon is really weak. I get that he wants to help Grace. But I wish they make his relationship stronger to make his motive stronger. Like make them fuck or something.

If only the demon just stayed on the ground, moaning while pretending to be nearly dead after the MC's attack, his plan would have still worked. Even better, the guards would have arrested the MC and harem, as well as Dame Celes, removing an obstacle the demon didn't even know about beforehand.
