How exactly is artificial insemination supposed to work when Ixorians can't bear children? Gomez having a child isn't an issue because his wife is human, but Birdy is biologically incapable of carrying a baby. And why does the emperor need an heir if he has that new robot body anyway?
This chapter, this whole volume really, highlights most of my problems with the manga. Birdy is totally inept without any agency, being led around by the plot and turned into a damsel in distress because of a nonsensical dilema so an author's pet character like Gomez or Chgira can get the spotlight with a helping of unnecessary fanservice as the story drags on just so the author can buy time and figure out what's going on next. Neither the OVA or Decode had to stoop this low.
