I mean, the story's over. The original novel ended with the stadium battle. So it's pretty impressive that he's kept it going for another 20 chapters and counting(from the latest raws) on ero alone. :sneaky:
The author is so unfathomably powerful that he not only easily dodges the axeman but also invents a storyline wholecloth, the story being that the demon queen is pure sex.

Anyone complaining is a philistine or an imbecile.

I don't mind the pace of this arc much since this is at least playing to the manga's strengths... but I'm flummoxed by the manga's pacing overall.

Part of what made the colosseum arc so dull was it kept burning chapters to introduce ideas only to discard them a chapter or two later without clear progress on the main plot. The whole arc dragged on forever but each part of it raced by too fast to even leave an impression. And even before that... did we even get enough mileage out of the original premise? At this point it almost feels like Iver and Mirio could be traded out for any other hero x demon queen couple.

But... I'm still here so.🤷‍♂️

Actually... i guess that explains most of it! Was the novel as weirdly paced?

This really is the dumbest shit imaginable now. There isn't even a story at the moment. It's just some high-concept bullying of a character that has been nothing but supportive of the series leads and didn't want anything to do with this inane scenario in the first place. All this is accomplishing is making me like Iver as a character much less than I did.

It was similar but I guess the manga added more gags and more twists to stretch out the battle arc.

Thanks for the batch releases, I am just catching up with this now and I find this turn of events interesting. With consideration as another comment stated, the main story of the web novel being over when the final fight ended. I feel like it is starting to read as the author and artist fleshing out parts that were either skipped, or my assumption based on the silly future adventures hinted at during the last arc, actually fleshing out the joke arcs that were just single panel gags. I can sort of see why people may be burnt out on the series, but I am here for the dumb gags more then a serious plot.
