Why is he surprised after seeing the blizzard he picked up? Isn't he supposed to see the cards before picking them up?

All the cards that appear as a selection are random, he can see what it is but doesn't matter if all the cards that appeared are low rarity. So it's more like he's happy that the spell he wanted is an option, not that he picked the right one.
