The pacing isn't very good but the theme of the story is cute, so I'll let it go.
It's kinda weird that this topic is drawn in a shōnen way though...
I mean if the character view make-up and modeling in a career way then they'll be adult quickly and most of their time, especially if this starts at high-school education level ?
Why base this manga for young people then, since the topic isn't made to be that accessible for them ? Doing this is going the hard way imo, meaning it's harder to make something good out of it than something lacking...
What I mean is that it's not a good point in this story, however make-up and modeling can totally be seen through high schoolers eyes and de facto made into a good shōnen story, I just don't like that this is one I guess ?
See My Dress-Up Darling is a seinen while still having a pretty childish/young vibe, with this I don't see how to make a good shōnen about make up without it being quite a challenge... Probably because I haven't found one yet ?
Anyway this story is still pretty cute x)
Edit : I made this comment because I disliked their (mc for the most part) shocked pikachu face at every juncture, which I found unnecessary/too much and annoying but you can see the manga improved really well each volume and it's barely relevant from the third volume onwards.
Same thing with the pacing that was bad, it's basically gone after the first volume.
I can't feel this being a shōnen except for the constant competition and challenges now, which are a welcome tension and growth potential for mc/other characters. Good
Art is well done and beautiful with a good pacing making this very thrilling to read, especially at volume ends after the build up, when you see the make-up reveals... Simply great ! Like I said, this is already effective after volume one.

I've been on this manga's coattails since chapter 2 and it is still FIRE. Thank God someone picked up, chapters were NOT coming out back then.
