This is one of the many reasons I hate this anime and manga. Saya let EVERYONE die before killing the spider thing with ease, and we're supposed to think "you got this!" once all her classmates are dead. Edge can be good, if the story makes sense. This doesn't make sense. Saya is useless, and can't save anyone. This pisses me off way more than it should.
