I mean... if this helps Seiichi move on, that's good for him, but really? She straight up abandoned and denied him, so her going "I actually always loved you uwu" now does feel empty. Also, I dislike the weird implication that Seiichi somehow "did" something as a child, or somehow pushed Seiko to her crazy-ass actions, when he was just a child longing for his mother's love, and her unresolved trauma was what fucked them all over.

Knowing how far we have come, I think forgiving her is okay. What's done is done. There is no changing it.
You would not be any better of a person than her if you went and did something to her in her very vulnerable state.

And I think the conversation carries much more weight when we see them open up to each other, even if it's all happening in his mind. I am pretty sure, she would have said the same thing herself.

Strange happenings are afoot, as usual.

Is this real, or just in his head? If it's just in his head, like his own interpretation of her behavior and actions throught their lives, then who's to say that it's the truth, that she really loved him?
In any case, personally, i think it's good for him that he forgives her. She's at her final moments.

WTFEVEN?!
This is TRASH.
Is the author seriously promoting the idea that these sort of parents should get a pass, and that this counts as “love”?!
Bruh it literally is just what Seichii is telling himself to cope with their relationship and the nearing loss of his mother. Seichii’s forgiveness or guilt only ever manifests during dreams and stuff, this is just his thoughts personified.
