Well, the yes answer from Seiichi wasn't really a surprise here. No story if the mother gets caught 11 chapters in.

I really like how the manga focuses on the burden that this will place on Seiichi's life from this point forward. He's gonna have to fess up soon, perhaps to the girl that wanted to go to his house, maybe?

@SotiCoto Why is he staring at her like a maniac? Cause she literally just attempted to MURDER his cousin and then lied about it to police. You telling me you wouldn't be a little freaked out by the fact that someone you hold very close to your heart, someone who knows you at your most vulnerable, did something like that? There's a serious conflict going on in that boys head right now.

Edit: Well okay I get the feeling you weren't being sincere. haha.

@sirflimflam : Two things here...
At this stage in the manga (which I later dropped for being complete horseshite), I wasn't convinced she had actually done anything of the sort. This is EXACTLY the sort of manga that engages in deceptive psychological shenanigans, and figured that he'd probably imagined it because he couldn't see clearly what was going on. At least there was sufficient cause for him to be uncertain about what he saw... which would lead one to naturally err on the side of "denial with suspicion".
Regardless, enough time has passed that if anything, fear would usually be motivating him to behave in a less conspicuous manner since he isn't sure what could come of drawing too much attention to himself.
Instead... he is just gawping like a complete retard... ages after the fact. 99% certain he IS brain-damaged here.

As to the other part... if my mother pushed someone off a cliff and I was the only witness... I'd probably just nod appraisingly and say "Nice." ... maybe a bit envious that she got to kill someone before I did ... But then I'm an extreme misanthrope and want most of humanity dead (my mother isn't, but that isn't really the point).
I mean... I don't even know you, but if you were standing on the edge of a cliff with nobody around, you can bet I'd kick you off and laugh as you fell... just because you were there.

@EzWeeb : Of course they don't. Normal people are idiots beyond reason. Walking, noise-making cancer. Overinflated egos mired in collectivism without the personal responsibility nor the wits to justify any of it.
Normal people are the filth I have to wade through if I want to get anything done whatsoever.

Of course they don't think like that or they wouldn't be like that in the first place.
To claim they think at all would be gross exaggeration.

@Syanindita : Whereas if he really believed she had done that and he had any sense of self-preservation whatsoever, he would be doing everything he could to abstain from drawing attention to himself.

@Soticoto well yes.. anyway the answer to your frustation why he keep staring at his mother already cleared right?
Its normal reaction if he is sane and quite normal too if he is also insane (in denial state) you know he needs to make an imagination or something that she is the murderer. Though the truth actually she did push the cousin in the later chapters

@Syanindita : The whole thing was facetious in the first place. Yes, he is doing it because he is an idiot. The real underlying question is why he is such a useless idiot. But that isn't something that will ever be answered.

@SotiCoto Bro, he is a 14 CHILD, how the fuck do expect him to react to this? He's in shock at his mother killing his cousin, I assure you, you wouldn't """""nod appraisingly""""" if you were a child seeing that shit. How exactly is he an idiot?

@EzWeeb : Your assurances are worthless. You might have a point if he was about 5, but 14 is more than old enough for him to put conscious self-preservation ahead of self-defeating reflex... ASSUMING he wasn't a completely useless idiot stuck acting less than half his age.
If his behaviour seems usual to you, just how pathetic were you at that age?

@SotiCoto What exactly do you mean by "self-defeating reflex?", going into shock is a normal reaction for a kid coddled and groomed his entire life by his mother. Saying "Oh this guy's an idiot why doesn't just do this" is fucking retarded because his mother controlled everything up to his interactions with other people to his food preferences. Maybe you were a hard ass gangster when you were 14, but this kid ain't that.

@EzWeeb : Ugh... of all the things I could have been notified about a reply to... why this? Why you?
I mean what I said. It isn't complicated. Even a deer in the headlights will bolt eventually. One would think a human would be capable of more than that, but the stupid kid was zoned out for how long? His overly coddling mother is no excuse for that.

And how are you so broken that you're acting like it is somehow normal to go full retard when your life is probably on the line? Most people are straight up idiotic, but acting like base animals is at least one thing that isn't beyond the average idiot. This guy can't even manage that though. His self-preservation is below animal level. He put himself at the level of plants and fungi... and here you are trying to defend that like it is the most natural response (or complete lack of response) in the world.

@SotiCoto Going into shock is normal for a child who has never experienced death before/sheltered. Doesn’t really matter how long the effects of shock lasted or how long he was zoned out. At this point in the story you see he has absolutely no resistance to his mother, and thinks she can do no wrong, and then out of no where she kills his cousin, why wouldn’t he go into shock? Everything he’s known up to now is being broken down, and he has no idea how to react. You can’t fault the kid here for breaking down, and just staring, trying to comprehend that perhaps everything he’s known about his mother and his life is a lie.

@EzWeeb : And just how many children have you driven into shock to test that? What basis do you have for claiming it normal? Had he that level of trust in his mother, absolute denial would be a far more natural reaction, don't you think?

@Unkn0wn_G : That'd be kinda tough since I'm 36 and guns are illegal here... But sure, I might have become a school shooter if I'd had access to guns back when I was in school. Strangely enough when I graduated I was voted "most likely to become an axe-murderer". But I've still never killed anyone. Guess I'm too lazy. I don't even own an axe... though I brought back a few nice knives when I went to South Africa back in 2000...
