I suspected something, and had a rapid look at chapter 85 to check if i was right... And i was right.
Bocchi doesn't evolve at all, this reeks of Watamote. In many ways actually. This is set up in such a way that Bocchi simply CAN'T evolve. This is this nonsensical, frustrating, utterly unfun, nauseating (to me) and extremely repetitive system that never gets broken down: 1) Life is suffering to the MC to the point where it wouldn't be strange to consider suicide: more than anything else, she wants to get popular and break out of her shell >> 2) There is an opportunity to achieve just that >> 3) MC squanders this opportunity and makes things worse instead, by making it a rule to act unrelatably wacky or running away from necessary socialising >> 4) As a result, she is not popular and her life doesn't get better >> 5) Despite this, she does not understand why it is, despite it being so obvious (part of the 'humour', you know), and she proceeds to continue as is, and then get back to 1). Rince and repeat, for as long as it sells.
. This is the whole structure of this manga.
This is a drop from me. I shouldn't have started this since i can't stand this kind of repetitive, rank 'humour'.
