They had no time and resource for that. Their mission was to get Mia's arm and Arisu back and returned safely and they already accomplished that. Lingering around any longer will only risk them from being ambushed so returning to the base immediately was the correct decision.I'm glad that they returned home but it feels like they should've thought about what to do with the other school people more
It's used so often that it's hard to name any single starting instance. At this stage it's a trope just like Chekov's Gun or the Hero's Journey.Any idea which comic it was?,also, who made the joke first?,which popular-ish comic also made the joke?,these are the real questions.
As for a close current example, that'd be 1:39,which is day three in universe.
I see. It's used so often that it's hard to name any single starting instance. At this stage it's a trope just like Chekov's Gun or the Hero's Journey.
Well, the whole point is to take note of it.Don't read so much into it. Putting aside that its an age old comics joke, it's a common joke in Japan in manga, anime and even IRL about how much time may have passed. In the latter case you can make a comment about how X time has passed, has the 'author' forgotten about us, even though it's real life.

And since none of them can be trusted, bringing them along is not an option either. As Shiki said, leaving them to their own device serves better purpose in the long run since they can be used as baits for the monster and that will reduce MC's group burden as well.
TLDR: They already made the right call
Ah,this took a turn.Actually it's not a joke, it's literal in this case. I checked the Official Raw site and the series was on hiatus during this arc from 2022 to late 2024.

Damn, a two year hiatus? I'm glad it came out of that, because things that stop that long are generally just very dead.
It didn't have a 2 years hiatus, @HDMI1 mistook it because comic-walker remove old chapters and keep the 1 month break notices for volume release, refer to page 2Ah,this took a turn.
