Good choice to show the same scenes from his POV. It's not quite as deep as I was hoping to see, but maybe we'll see more of his background later.

Might just be that silence is exceptionally difficult to show in an inherently silent medium. But then again, it should almost be more accurate to his perspective?

This was meant to be a one volume manga, which explains the amount of time between the release of volume 1 and 2. It received immense popularity after the first volume (even made the local japanese news!) for the subject (mostly lauding it for being a realistic display of a deaf person)
Its actually a lot of build up backstory more than baseball action in the first volume. Second volume has more baseball stuff but still isn't quite like the typical baseball manga you will find.

Maybe in the further volumes down the road...
