I’m assuming Hanzo seeing Shakanyorai as Goku is significant. Everyone else saw her as something else. I’m sure Shakanyorai/Goku asked the past reincarnations of Sanzo who she looked like and none of them saw her as Goku, but THIS reincarnation did.

Well. Glad that cleared up the confusion. It was weird to just suddenly throw us into an entirely different timeline, parallel world and story without any indication of doing so. It also explains why he saw her as Goku. I wonder if her reality still exists, if it did exist. And I suspect the trial that was alluded to is still ongoing.
