Personally I want to read it again just so I can see the cute elf girl, but more importantly a better ending and a different form of story telling (this is more dialogue heavy while the web comic was narration heavy)

Yeah one of the major advantages of doing a serialization like this or just new adaptations of old material in general is how you can restructure the story when you have a full view of everything

I've just gone a read the web comic, and my god it is a bit dark.

The poor girl goes through an awful lot and I worried that the artist/writer was just a manic depressive, and it would stay miserable until the end. I think it is a somewhat flawed work and I hope the creator will look at it again and maybe try and raise the overall tone somewhat. Especially the fact that he never tells her his name at first. I just don't see the point of that... One of these ridiculous idiosyncrasies from Japan to do with shame, no doubt. Another personally hated cliché that Japan loves, is making the bad guy as evil as possible. I speak of the Noble who abused the girl. The concept of him performing all that abuse and then poisoning her just seems overplayed. I want to understand why he would poison her while getting rid of her. Surely he could have just killed her and harvested her body for material. Rather than the dastardly evil plot of sending her off half dead and poisoned to die elsewhere. it is just silly.
