Seeing the Divine Tree people from the angle that they are essentially ignorant babies acting on instinct rather volition gives them some depth. Konohomaru obviously feeling at odds at the idea of exploiting their "innocence" but as Shikamaru has stated their entire existence is a threat to humanity.
Jura being the oldest of them, can be reasonable, he buys books and doesn't go out of his way to destroy things just for the sake of it as he is in the pursuit of knowledge and finding a reason for his existence outside of the Divine's tree influence.
Shinki's Divine tree counterpart initially thought only of killing ninjas because that's what he was told to do and he didn't think of questioning it, after meeting and talking to them he formed his own opinion.
Unfortunately even though they can be reasoned with to some extent, the conversation then circles back that their existence is still a threat to humanity and the world so that by simply existing they are evil. They are still beholden to their instincts to devour the person they are obsessed with, and it would be rare to see them fight against that instinct with how infantile their thinking is at the moment.
