Kei has a similar struggle to Smile from Ping Pong, but I guess it's different for a team sport since Kei vs Haruka is not on the table. I do get the sense that Kei is the only one of the two who really cares about winning, even though at the same time he's afraid to. I'm not sure there's any indication that Haruka actually wants to be the best of the best. I feel like he'd be content to lose as long as he gets to play ball with Kei. Maybe Kei is torturing himself for nothing. Either way, I love seeing how much these two adore each other

God I love this manga so much that I made an account just to leave a comment. The fact that a very young Kei feels responsible for making sure Haruka succeeds in baseball is so tragic to me. The panel where he says "Keep playing the role of the general..." or something like that makes me think that he never "became" the general even during his middle school days. He was always a goofy idiot from the beginning. Even during that arc where the general returns for a few chapters, was he pretending? Thank you for the translation 🙏🙏

Thanks for the regular chapters!!! I've only recently started reading this story and it's an amazing ride! Love to see which memories Kei will confront next!

I have no words for this chapter. In the end, I just feel sad on Kei's behalf? Like now that I understand his struggles and why he became the general, I feel like maybe losing his memory is the best way for him to enjoy baseball again :')

Anyway, thank you for the translation!

Valid observation and it isn't wrong per say However, there's much more to this and mentioning it would be introducing spoilers :D The current arc focuses primarily on Kei so we are seeing his side here. But we also get a glimpse of Kiyomine's side and his thoughts much later on.
